Desired Action, what’s this, surely I can only imagine and it will be granted, yes….no. I don’t think so. Desired Action the secret explains is the do, if you want something, a response is required from YOU! My wife a financial life skills coach says that most people want things but simple have no plan in place. That is, no desired action to change in proportion to what it is you desire. They remain in the “rut race”, excuse the pun Rich Dad Poor Dad.
If I wanted a 1 million, surely I am not going to get it by sitting around on my arse, waiting for a free handout.
Desired Action = DO
So here is my plan to test the secret and get out of the “rut race”:
· I want 50 million rand by age 35 (half will be given away to charity for kids)
· I want to grow the Rural Educational Access Programme Alumni bursary scheme to receive funding of R500K per annum
· I want to grow Skylar to an international brand company
· I want to make a change in 100 000 people’s lives
· I want to have my own red wine brand
· I want to have a mushroom farm
· I want to build the tallest building in Cape Town
· I want to publish a best seller
· I want to make a movie
· I want to have my own clothing label
· By doing all of the above I want to have the best time ever
I think this is enough for now, don’t want to appear greedy. Lets see if the genie of the Universe acknowledges my request.
Later that day I met a guy and gal, Dave Duarte (guy) and Elaine Rumboll (gal) (google them). They blew my mind away with the new changes or rather their views on the new age of marketing. Is this the “force” of the universe working in stealth mode. During the discussion I felt like a Neanderthal, what I knew about new age marketing is the equivalent of what my 2 year old knows about the theory of relativity. Maybe I will see the benefits of this meeting a bit later.
PS. Note to Self maybe these guys can help me start a clothing label.
Later that day I watched “The pursuit of happyness“ , crikey that was one long interview. Got me thinking about “what is wealth and why do we want more?”. Is there a band aid for this? Is wealth not a function of health? OR vice versa? Why are we not happy at any one point? Happyness must and can only be a continuous state of mind.
Happyness is relative!

Secret of No Secret, that is the question!

So I could not sleep last night thinking about how the secret would change my life, positive affirmation after positive affirmation – I was on the verge of over exertion …. And my wife had nothing to do with it. I raised intense debates in my head, trying not to focus on any negatives – this is really hard.
I then decided to do some research so I registered myself as a member on http://www.thesecret.tv/, reason being I wanted to as a good forensic auditor would was to establish the status quo. So here is what I managed to dig up.

I had just finished work on a Saturday, and since I sold my car a month earlier due to financial constraints, I had to again source a ride home. Was a bit stressed out coz I really needed to get home. Then at that moment as I tried to figure out how to get home, a friend whom I had referred to a mechanic to repair her car called me to ask the mechanic to take the car to a parking bay, for she would be out of town till the next day. So I suggested to her to let the mechanic bring it to me then I can keep it till the next day.There... my problem was solved and I did not just get a ride, I actually got a car to my whole self. The point here is that... I really was in the zone, really wanted a ride home... mind you I had even forgotten to apply the law of attraction deliberately. And out of nowhere the car comes to me by the sheer intense of my want and need for a ride home from work. So it really works, especially if the thought is well focussed to what you want... Thanks universe.

I began reading The Secret a few days ago and since have had an overwhelming feeling of superhuman-ness... I feel like I can conquer the world! I thought I would start small when summoning from the universe, so I started with traffic. I work out of town, drive home Friday and drive back to work Sunday. The traffic is usually horrible. Thursday night as I lay in bed I imagined myself driving home with minimal traffic... no accidents, brush fires, or heavy stop and go traffic. Lo and behold Friday on my drive home my speedometer never dropped below 60!!! Thanks to The Secret for opening my eyes!!!!
My Life is a Luxurious All-inclusive Vacation

After first watching The Secret in Feb 07, my fiance and I attracted enough $$ for a vacation at an all-inclusive resort on the island's north coast. When we went we had a great time. I picked up a flyer for a week long event planned for June 2007. We really wanted to go to this event, and that flyer was one of the first things to go on our vision board at home. In June we were surprised by an invitation for 2 nights at a really nice hotel in a different town. When we got there, there was no room for us due to overbooking! We were a bit sad but got comp rooms at another, smaller hotel. We went to have dinner with a friend who lives in that town. We had arranged to meet at Place X to eat but when we got there and called our friend he said he had decided to have dinner next door instead so we should come over. We did and had a wonderful dinner. We went to the club attached to that restaurant and partied all night. While we were dancing away we met some people who recognised us from the ALL- inclusive resort... it turned out were the organizers of the June event! Of course they invited us to come along to the event as their guests! We were shocked and amazed...this was on the Saturday night and the event was the very next Friday. We knew we wanted to go but didn't have the $$ (799USD), and even though it was on our vision board, it wasn't the thing we thought about most. Wow. This works, definitely works. Peace and Prosperity.

The Ice Cream Cones

I have been 'creating' from an early age but never knew the power was mine until the end of last year when I was guided to a program that had Bob Proctor and John Assaraf discussing manifestation boards. It was divine intervention because just nights before I had been up late making a manifestation board and was intrigued to find out more. My pursuit for more knowledge started immediately! Last year I tracked down the CD of The Secret and was so excited to finally have some answers and direction! Major events have unfolded recently and when reading my journal from a year ago I realized that YES I actually sent that out to the universe and the Genie Granted my Wishes. I didn't know HOW or WHEN and the way it came to be is just as amazing as discovering The Secret.There is so much more to tell but what I really want to share is the story of the Ice Cream Wish. I have two young daughters and we sat together and I told them we were going to imagine getting an ice cream cone from Baskin Robbins for a treat that day. We each VIVIDLY described the kind of cone we wanted, what flavor the first scoop would be, and then the second. Then we joyously began eating them. With each lick we could just taste the flavor of ice cream we chose. We had fun eating them before the ice cream dripped, and truly we enjoyed our imaginary ice cream cones that afternoon. A couple of days later my youngest came to me and shared a thank you note she had received from her friend, and inside were two $2 Baskin Robbin's Ice Cream coupons for her and her sister! I couldn't believe it!!! I looked at her with tears in my eyes and told her that SHE MANIFESTED IT TWO DAYS AGO! Her eyes became so wide and she just stood there processing everything we did two days ago and then ran to tell her sister! After telling her sister, she came downstairs and said to me, "Mom, I'm sorry there wasn't one for you to get your ice cream cone". I told her not to be sad. After returning to work this week from many months off after surgery, I received a little extra money on my paycheck and could buy my own!

I thought this only works for Americans! It appears that the secret’s powers have a far reaching effect. From ice creams to traffic, can this actually work?
Just received a call from my brother Howie, off to play some golf.
At the golf course we meet a guy on his own called David and asked if he wanted to join us, turns out he’s a dealer at the casino I went there with my last R40, he laughs at me when I recall my story and says stupid sod, try black jack next time but not when you’re down and out. Alas he’s valuable advice will be taken into consideration. Is this the mystery of the secret? Don’t question the how? Still a bit of BS.

Is it “BS” or is there merit?
After reading the secret, I thought to myself “shit” if this works for these aspiring high flyers or would be high flyers or renowned high flyers surely this could have the potential of working for me.
Hence the experiment commences on 17 September 2007, as I write this story aged 32, I am starting the application of the secret. Is this “BS” or does it have any merit?
Let me tell you about me, I find myself at a juncture in my life having done reasonably well in terms of my job level, success and personal well being. I am a director of a Consulting firm, I have 2 great sons and a phenomenal wife. I also own a property business (after reading Rich Dad Poor Dad). I am the managing director of a hotline company called the Vuvuzela (put in the pronunciation) Hotline. More importantly I am starting out with a company called Skylar – this will become a global brand. Reality or myth, we’ll see in a few years (2 to be exact). Crikey, now I am really feeling the pressure. Let me carry on, I have a personal motto which is “If it is to be it is up to me” courtesy of Lydia Jacobs (authors mom). I have set my goals early in my life and I am staying the course. My enneagram lists my personality as “The Helper” Type Two(see http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/) “the caring, interpersonal type. Twos are empathetic, sincere and warm hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self sacrificing, but they can also be sentimental, flattering and people pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs. At their best: unselfish and altruistic, they have unconditional love for others. “ Get the picture.
I own….sorry the bank owns a house in the suburbs where I live. I think of myself as an optimist, negativity and me are like oil and water. I tend to procrastinate at times, but starting to swing in the opposite direction ie not procrastinating. Am I starting to sound like you….. guess what I am probably your neighbour.
I find myself stuck in a situation of DEBT, the age old fairytale of suburban bliss. How this sneaks into your life without even noticing it….or…..maybe we tend not to notice, yes that’s more like it. Just the other day I was down an out no cash to pay workers, bills etc so I visualize winning at the casino (not a big gambler), praying, hoping, feeling the jubilation that I would win just R30 000.00. I needed this to square up some debt. So I head in with R40 to my name plus R10 for parking. I choose a machine where the payout was R51 000.00 thinking it was fairly close to my target. I was up R350 but then lost it all. I then made a personal vow that I would never ever go to the casino when I was ever down and out. Needless to say some or other way I managed to get through the DEBT.
So what have I done to deserve this, nothing in particular, I have merely been existing and not been living (think these words belong in some song). So this is why I think of myself as a perfect specimen in the application of the secret. My focus as we proceed would be to test the elements of the secret to the full, to test this unbreakable theory, to see whether I become a wealthy man in all sense of the word, to go where no man has gone before, to search the universe for the greater good, to get hugged by Oprah, to give 100,000 people jobs. Getting a bit carried away now.
I made a little space today for an attitude of gratitude (random act of kindness Kfm ), sounds lame, but I decided to take R1000 (overdraft at maximum) and give it to a lady working with children in a slum area in Cape Town – lets see what happens. I don’t leave any details, I want to see how the forces work.
So here we go, on your marks, set, GO.

The Secret X
The Secret X, is a self experiment I have embarked on - It test the theory of the book written by Rhonda Byrne.
Sooo is it Bull$&^% or is there merit in the teachings? This is the underlying theme of the experiment - it may take a while be warned.
I will take you through my thinking on a day by day basis - looking at the Law of Attraction, desired action etc.
If it works on me, chances are it really works. If you have any comments please post it, by posting your comments you give the author the right to publish it in a book, if ever we get that far.
I thought I'd dress up for this occasion and sort of look the part.
